The multi-talented KAE TEMPEST is a British non-binary person who is active in rap, poetry and literature. In 2020, Tempest announced via Twitter that the first name will henceforth be Kae and the pronouns will change to the gender-neutral "they". Tempest grew up in London and made his first appearance as a rapper at the age of 16. In 2006 KAE TEMPEST took part in poetry slams for the first time. This was followed by appearances as a supporting band and a performance at the Glastonbury Festival. Furthermore, the first novel of Tempest was published in 2014. In 2021 Kae is even honored with the Silver Lion of the Biennale die Venezia "for a diverse body of work".
