Abbas Hamad, better known by his stage name Bas, is a Sudanese-American rapper from Queens, New York City. Born in Paris and moved to New York City at the age of of eight, the multicultural environment shaped Bas' musical identity. Growing up in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, he discovered his passion for rap as a teenager. After studying business administration at Queens College, he dedicated himself entirely to his rap career. He made his breakthrough with his debut album Last Winter (2014), which reached number 17 in the Billboard 200 charts.
