US singer/songwriter Gracie Madigan Abrams is finally releasing her highly anticipated debut album. It's called "Good Riddance" and marks the first pop highlight of 2023. Equally inspired of classic (of Joni Mitchell/Simon & Garfunkel to Kate Bush and Elliott Smith) and current voices (of James Blake and Bon Iver to Phoebe Bridgers/Taylor), the early 20-year-old not only knows how to write expressive songs, but also how to mix catchy passages with gentle melodies. Celebrated as a rising star for her first two EPs, "Minor" and "This Is What It Feels Like," the songs she's released so far (including "I miss you, I'm sorry," "21" and "Feels Like") have racked up streaming numbers in the double- to triple-digit millions.
